Adjustments and Manipulation

c

A chiropractic adjustment, also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is the primary chiropractic treatment method for back pain.

Spinal manipulation relieves pressure on joints, reduces inflammation, and improves nerve function. It has been a trusted form of treatment since the ancient Greek Hippocrates documented manipulative techniques in his writings back in 1500 B.C. Today, spinal manipulation is used to treat conditions such as allergies, menstrual cramps and headaches.

How Does Spinal Manipulation Work?
There are well over 100 types of adjustment techniques used by chiropractors throughout the world. Some practitioners may use force and twisting, while other techniques are more gentle. Regardless of how they are performed, these techniques are intended to restore or enhance joint function with the objectives of reducing pain and resolving joint inflammation.

When vertebrae shift out of place, there is an overall systemic response from the muscular system to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow, our nerves, our immune system, and our minds cannot function at their highest peak.

Overall, spinal adjustments and manipulations are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level without any discomfort. When the body is adequately aligned, it becomes able to respond and perform as it was built to do.

Pediatric Chiropractic

Chiropractic has been regarded for centuries as a vital aspect of a healthy life. Touch is among the first of the senses to develop in newborns, and babies respond positively to human touch both physically and emotionally. Chiropractors understand the special needs of small children and provide soothing services that is nurturing and enjoyable to babies.

Children of all ages can benefit from chiropractic as a stress reducer. Stress has been linked to immune system functionality, and chiropractic has proven benefits in combating illness from asthma to eczema by boosting immunity and reducing stress. In addition, chiropractic provides much-needed human touch that helps to promote healthy emotional development.

Children with special needs can benefit greatly from chiropractic. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, can be regulated with chiropractic by a trained therapist, and many clients report increased ability to focus and maintain better self-control in school with the help of chiropractic. Chiropractic can also help children fall asleep more easily, sleep more soundly and enjoy feelings of alertness all day long.

Pregnancy chiropractic is unique as expectant mother is carefully supported in order to provide superior comfort and to protect her and the baby.

The benefits of pregnancy chiropractic are numerous.  It can be supremely comforting both physically and emotionally to an expectant mother, and the psychological benefit itself can be quite therapeutic.
